Try Googling "Amish"+"Compressed Air" or "Amish"+"Pneumatic Tools", they are big users. Of course they use diesel engines to drive their compressors, but that could just as easily be a wind or water mill.

Does anyone have any ideas on some possible weights/costs for pneumatic engines?
Skid Steer mini-loaders use hydraulic transmission.

The motor at the back turns a hydraulic motor, that pressure is sent to the tool arm and the wheel motors.

Check out MDI air cars, they had a nice little 20kw motor, but i think struggled with the low power density of stored compressed air.
