Re: Robin D. Laws Player Types Quiz
Well, that was amusing:
Power Gamer: 37.5% Butt-Kicker: 50% Tactician: 50% Specialist: 12.5% Method Actor: 62.5% Storyteller: 50% Casual Gamer: 29.166666666666668% If anyone is surprised, I'll bet it's that I score so high on Tactician, or maybe Butt-Kicker. . . . But I seem to be a fairly evenly distributed type, with three different player types tied for second place.

Re: Robin D. Laws Player Types Quiz
Also sort the results. I know that's more work, but there are 7 items. Sorting them makes the output a lot more readable.

Re: Robin D. Laws Player Types Quiz
I really don't like people doing that. It makes it harder to compare different people's scores. And even if I'm reading just one person's score, if everyone has them in the same order, after a handful of cases I'll know that line 3 is tactician; if they're sorted I have to read the labels every single time. By contrast, it's trivial to sort seven numerical scores from largest to smallest in my head.

If I decide to put any more time into this, I may try to set it up so you can easily sort the result, if you're so inclined.

How about keeping the order, but emphasizing the top 2 scorers in boldface and the lowest score (all lowest scorers if there is a break) in red text? |

Re: Robin D. Laws Player Types Quiz
Power Gamer: 42%
Butt-Kicker: 38% Tactician: 79% Specialist: 17% Method Actor: 50% Storyteller: 67% Casual Gamer: 38% Method Actor seems a little high. I suspect this comes from questions related to this sentence from Laws' definition: "He may believe that it’s creatively important to establish a radically different character each time out." I like the variety, but not because it's "creatively important", just fun to get out of a rut. I don't consider myself a strong roleplayer or actor, and I'm happy to keep the "game" in "RPG", so "preferring sessions in which the dice never come out of their bags" wouldn't really be true. Enjoy on occasion, yes; as a steady diet, probably not. Don't psychologists often develop these kinds of tests backwards? That is, rather than construct questions according to some theory, they give a bunch of sample questions to various people whose personalities they determine by other means (interviews, etc), and then look for correlations in the question set. |

Re: Robin D. Laws Player Types Quiz
Worked great for me, even on my amazon kindle.
Power Gamer: 63% Butt-Kicker: 46% Tactician: 54% Specialist: 17% Method Actor: 58% Storyteller: 75% Casual Gamer: 21% Seems right. I knew I was a storyteller first and foremost, but I would have expected to score higher on butt-kicker and lower on method actor.
