Accessories clarification
A question of clarification or interpretation. This came up in our first game.
On page 8 of the rule book, it says: "Unless a restriction says otherwise, accessories can be equipped to any firing arc." And for one of the pre-builds, The Slipstream, has the Targeting Computer on the left side with the Standard Machine Gun, and the Firing Interface on the right side with the Standard Machine Gun. (As well as 2 Wasps in the rear and 2 light Rockets in the front). The Target Computer card from the core deck says "This does not affect sidearms. You may add <1 blue die> to one of your attacks each round." The Firing Interface card from the set 1 deck says, "This does not affect sidearms. Once per attack, you may re-roll 1 die." So the question is: Is the Targeting Computer only available to be used for the left side Machine Gun, and the Firing Interface only available to be used for the right side Machine Gun? OR is that just where they are mounted, but both can be used on any weapon on the vehicle (with the limitation that the Targeting Computer can only be used on 1 attack each round and the Firing Interface can be used once per attack)? |

Re: Accessories clarification
Almost 100% sure the accessories work for all non-sidearm guns. The side placement just forces you to decide how to defend the accessories.

Re: Accessories clarification
Correct, as Werdna says, accessories that affect only vehicle weapons affect ALL weapons on the car, not just the ones mounted on the same side.

Re: Accessories clarification
I had the same question. I wish this were spelled out more explicitly on the cards themselves.

Re: Accessories clarification
Werdna described it exactly right.
To keep the card layout cleaner and avoid walls of text, we made a general system, and then only put exceptions in the text for cards that require it. Cards that exclusively affect one other card, for example, would have likely been given their own type or restriction, and they would all function in the same way. They'd probably also have red reminder text on them, much like we did with turrets and the EXCLUSIVE restriction. |
