Re: GURPS Websites: Blogs, Wikis, Feeds . . .
I just started a blog myself. A bit bare bones at the moment, but you gotta start somewhere.

Sorry the Daily Illuminator had to be written, approved, and queued before those last few blogs were brought to my attention . . . but keep your ear to the ground for Doug's plans to aggregate GURPS-day content. Cheers!

Re: GURPS Websites: Blogs, Wikis, Feeds . . .
I just started a blog last week that has some GURPS content — including a post today that I might have written on Thurpsday if I wasn't feeling so wretched.
Celti's Chatter; updates on no set schedule and not restricted solely to GURPS, but I plan on trying to help the GURPS-Day thing along. Two other sites, not new but not in this thread: I host a copy of the ancient GURPSNet Archive as well as a free-to-the-public GURPSNet Wiki with some content from a few people at (appropriately enough) GURPS.net (and a note to SJGames staff, if you have a problem with me having that domain name I will totally hand the registration over in a heartbeat — it just happened to be free when I wanted to split the GURPS stuff that wasn't mine off my personal site). Also, I have the gaming section on my personal wiki, entitled This Is Not A Wiki, which holds everything for my gaming group's GURPS games. The house rules section is password-protected because there's some stuff that's only barely different from the books and I don't feel comfortable with that being public, but the game pages themselves are free for reading. |

Re: GURPS Websites: Blogs, Wikis, Feeds . . .
Hey guys!
With some help from Jeffro Johnson - lots of help - I now have a PERL script that initially will be run by him that will look at the RSS feeds for y'alls blogs and pull out the GURPS posts, and spit 'em out formatted all nice and proper. (if you hear that in Nathan Fillion's voice, well, you're not wrong about that.) How will it do this? It will look for the GURPS tag that you will put on GURPS-related posts. Here's the list I have so far. Code:
The Collaborative Gamer,Joseph Linden,http://thecollaborativegamer.wordpress.com/feed/ Dark Paths and Wandered Roads,Jason Woollard,http://darkpathsandwanderedroads.blo...t/-/GURPS?=rss Game Geekery,Warren "Mook" Wilson,http://www.themook.net/gamegeekery/category/GURPS/feed/ Gaming Ballistic,Douglas Cole,http://gamingballistic.blogspot.com/...t/-/GURPS?=rss Jeffro's Space Gaming Blog,Jeffro Johnson,http://jeffro.wordpress.com//category/GURPS/feed One Yard Hex,Paul Stefko,http://oneyardhex.blogspot.com/feeds...t/-/GURPS?=rss Ravens N' Pennies,Christopher Rice,http://www.ravensnpennies.com/feeds/...t/-/GURPS?=rss Shooting Dice,Hans-Christian Vortisch,http://www.shootingdiceblog.wordpres...tag/GURPS/feed Dungeon Fantastic, Peter Dell'Orto, http://www.dungeonfantastic.blogspot...t/-/GURPS?=rss Mailanka's Musings, Daniel Dover, http://mailanka.blogspot.nl/feeds/po...t/-/GURPS?=rss This isn't the complete list from this thread (yet). If you want to make my life easier, and ensure inclusion in GURPS Day posts: 1. Send me an email at gurpsday@gmail.com This will get you on my GURPSDay mailing list, which I will use sparingly to contact people with questions or requests or 'hey, this doesn't work anymore' 2. Give me your critical information YOUR BLOG NAME, YOUR ATTRIBUTION, YOUR RSS feed filtered for GURPS If you're on blogger, your RSS feed will be something like Code:
http://www.YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default/-/GURPS?=rss The following two strings have worked well, but you'll need to try both to see which one works for you Code:
http://www.YOURBLOGNAME.wordpress.com/tag/GURPS/feed http://www.YOURBLOGNAME.wordpress.com/category/GURPS/feed 3. Tag all your posts with GURPS Use your blog editor's tag or category feature to label your posts with the GURPS tag. Both Blogger and Wordpress allow you to retroactively tag batches of posts with a new label/tag/category with a few mouse clicks. 4. If you're feeling bold add a summary statement to your post. This must be formatted as follows: Precis - One to three sentences summarizing your post. Think Twitter brevity level. The script will look for everything from the bolded Precis (but if you use PRECIS or PrEciS it won't care) to the first carriage return. Here's sample HTML: Code:
<b>Precis</b> - This is a test post I'm using to try out a scripting method for GURPS Day<br /> My last guidance talked about categories. Forget those for now. I'd like to add them eventually, but not this week!

Re: GURPS Websites: Blogs, Wikis, Feeds . . .
I think I should post this here... (I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong :) )
This is not really a blog, but a page with links to my Google directories full of GURPS game campaign material. There is some background for fantasy worlds, quite a few racial templates, a few critters (mostly a slew of undead to go with my necromancy rules), an original magic system, and a pretty much complete Space Opera setting.
