looking for rule: modifiers on modifiers
Hi All,
I've been trying to find it in the books and can't seem to. How does the math work if you want to add a modifier only to a modified use of a the power. For instance say you want to add +50% long range modifier but want it to cost fatigue -10% just to boost the range. How do you make that modifier? I know somebody just has that rule at their fingertips.

Re: looking for rule: modifiers on modifiers
There isn't a general rule for modifying modifiers. There's no rule for modifying limitations at all. AFAICT there isn't a rule for enhancing enhancements either.
However, Optional Rule: Limited Enhancements on B111, (optionally) limits enhancements. |

Re: looking for rule: modifiers on modifiers
I'm curious about the issue, too. Suppose, for example, you're creating an undercover angel who manifests wings in order to fly, but otherwise lacks them. Well, that's Flight with the Winged limitation... but the wings are Switchable, only appearing (and being targetable) while Flight is in use.
So how do you price that? |

Re: looking for rule: modifiers on modifiers
I wasn't saying you were, I was given an example of when you would use it. to limit an enhancement in the case switchable using cost HP. I quoted because I was adding to what you said, and given you credit for completing that rules research before I did. That is a hard rule to fined after all.

And, in any case, it doesn't make sense to take Switchable on Flight, does it? Flight is inherently Switchable, right, like many advantages? The intent is to have Flight available, and to have that Flight require wings, but not to have the wings hanging around (as visible distractions or as targets) while on the ground. I'd initially thought that perhaps the Switchable limitation would act to proportionally reduce the discount given by Winged, since lacking the wings sometimes is less disadvantageous than having them all the time. That would be Switchable Winged, for -25% * .9 = -22.5%, so Flight (Switchable Wings) would be 40 * .775 = 31. Compared to regular old Flight (Winged) [30], I guess it's essentially like adding a Perk, "Wings vanish while landed". Is that fair? |

I think Switchable Body Parts, Powers, page 81, would be worth a look!
