Default Re: [Adventure Workshop] Assassination of the Week

The job could be made more complicated and maybe more interesting if the client adds some requirements just to satisfy his lust for vengeance. The father is in jail, so perhaps she has to be killed in a manner that guarantees he finds out about it -- say on TV. I'm sure his lawyer or friends or whatever would send him a letter not matter what; I mean find out in some unexpected, un-buffered, shocking manner.

Also, the father needs to know that this wasn't some random accident, so the hit should be done in such a manner as to signal who was responsible and why. That last connection is of course a lead for the cops -- murders with no connection to their victims are much harder to catch -- which makes the job more dangerous and thus maybe more gameable. And a crime splashy enough to grab TV airtime is going to mean a lot of attention and pressure to solve the case, thus making it hard on the PCs.

Just killing a random girl going about her ordinary life in any possible manner isn't going to be much a challenge for a professional.

The other angle would be to consider that "ordinary". Are we talking a family rich enough (and paranoid enough) that they have bodyguards and live in a fortress? Or is the girl somehow unique enough to be a PC-class challenge on her own? (More extreme games might even have her secretly a member of a rival organization, or have mutant powers, or whatever.)

Target: Michael Giavendoni, age 38, a mid-level mobster.

Client: Mr. Testardi, age, 44, a mid-level mobster.

Background:
Giavedoni and Testardi’s wife are having an affair. They have a meeting planned for a week from now, at a high end Miami resort hotel. Mr. Testardi wants Giavedoni terminated in his wife’s presence, and a letter given to her. She is not to be harmed in any way.

Giavedoni will normally have 6 bodyguards with him at all times. Mrs. Testardi will have 2 bodyguards.

Setup:
Giavedoni and Mrs. Testardi have a three day weekend get together planned for a week from now, at a high end Miami resort hotel. They will book a 4 bedroom suite (it has a front entrance inside and an outside entrance to the pool/spa area). The bodyguards will have three normal rooms a short distance away.

Four of Giavedoni’s guards are on duty and two in reserve during the day. Two guards will be on duty at night (“night” being 2am to 10 am). Both of Mrs Testardi’s body guards will be in reserve.

5 of Giavedoni’s guards are Mooks (skill 12), and the last one is a Worthy (skill 14). Both of Mrs Testardi’s body guards are Worthies (skill 14).

The guards are all armed with 9mm Glocks with two spare magazines and have headset radios. The reserve group will have Uzis with 4 magazines each. Giavedoni will have a high cap 45. Mrs Testardi will be unarmed other than her "panic" button.

Mrs Testardi has a “panic” broach which, when the button is pressed, will call her body guards. The night guards will have panic buttons too.

Actions:
Giavedoni and Mrs. Testardi will stay in their suite and order room service for their meals. The guards will stay out of the suite other that to deliver the food or if called.

If the party harmes Mrs. Testardi, a group of 8 worthy (skill 14) mob assassin will come after them.

Enjoy.

Basically? Yes.

No, she's pretty ordinary. Come to think of it, I never specificed her age. She could be a young girl, a teenager, a college student or even a grown woman and that would change the job dramatically, wouldn't it?
