Is Running Away a Combat Roll?
As is often the result of introducing a new player I've had my assumptions scrambled. The Room Icons, which govern whether a room is good or bad for a player, affect both Combat rolls and Search rolls. Got it. But the group mind had assumed that combat rolls were strictly the rolls that were added to a player's/monster's levels. Then the question of Running Away was brought up. Running Away is dealt with in the combat section of the rules, so does the roll to Run Away benefit/suffer from Room Icons?

No, when you roll to Run Away combat is over.

I agree that running away is not a combat roll, but I would like to know if you get an extra die to role with on your escape attempt if you are in a room that is 'good' for you.

Re: Is Running Away a Combat Roll?
Since it's not a combat roll, no, you don't roll an extra dice.

Re: Is Running Away a Combat Roll?
Yeah, but on a different thread I have just learned that if I am searching a room, which is good for me, I get an extra die to roll with. That is also not a combat situation, so where does the dividing line go?
Hope somebody can sort out my growing confusion. Cheers, Karina |
