Half-Breed vs Swiss Army Polearm

Pretty simple:

If I am a half-breed with just one race card in play (so I'm half elf and half human) can I use a card for "Humans Only" (e.g. the Swiss Army Polearm). I think I can, but doubt is nagging.

(I used this combination to march to an easy victory against my eight-year-old son, so it would ease my conscious if this combination could be confirmed.)

"Only usable by [x]"
The question is: Are you [x]? If the answer is "yes", then you can you use it. if the answer is no, then you cannot.

So, you are a half-breed human elf. Are you human? Yes. Therefore you can use items only usable by humans.

"Not usable by [x]"
The question is: Are you [x]? If the answer is "yes", then you cannot you use it. if the answer is no, then you can.

So, you are a half-breed dwarf elf. Are you an elf? Yes. Therefore you would not be able to use items "Not usable by elves".

If, however, you are a half-breed human elf: Are you an elf? Yes. Therefore you might think you would not be able to use items "Not usable by elves" EXCEPT for one important detail: the half-breed card, when used with no other race card (ie., half human), allows you to ignore penalties for being an elf. Thus, the answer to the question in this case is "Not really", so yoU CAn use an item "not usable by elves".
