Eh, I'd expect all such mages to already know a spell that handles that for them, although I suppose this might be a good option in a no/low mana area (or a very high mana area, if the mage fears critical failures). Indeed, I'd expect such a spell to be amongst the first such a mage would learn. Said spell probably gets rid of the waste of familiars as well.

Two Dimensionalator - A tube that fits over one end of the staff and looks like a handle. Activate to compress your staff into an incredibly thin plane, except for the handle section at one end. Works like a fine greatsword with AD2 while activated.
Flexinator - a red silk string with a small red wax ball on each end. These balls will adhere to each end of a wizard staff if applied there, and make it work as a longbow. Jet Turbine - Jet spells originating from this staff do double knockback. |

Missile Wrack - This staff can "hold" up to 6 missile spells of the same type (they still count as "spells on"). These can subsequently be fired in one turn using the rapid fire rules, with a recoil of 2. Variants with different capacities and recoil values exist.

Re: Wizard Staff Tacticool Accessories
How about a double-staff where you take a pair of 2-yard staffs (separately enchanted) and bond them in the middle so that it has a total length of 4 yards, allowing you to do things like do a running slam where you bash 2 foes in the neck with your fire-enchanted staves?

Re: Wizard Staff Tacticool Accessories
I was thinking more like a 12ft pole. You make 2 wooden staffs and then I guess you would find some way of affixing them while leaving their tips exposed so that 1 hand can touch both tips simultaneously.
You actually make a pair of them (4 staffs total) to wield 2 handed for maximum flexibility! |

Staff-a-Hoop - attach these bronze caps over the ends of your staff. On speaking the command word, your staff will bend into a hoop.

Measuring Runes
Speak a command word to "switch on" a series of glowing numbered runes all along the staff, making it a big ruler instantly.
