Huh. Maybe the next 'modern-era' Sherlock Holmes adaptation will have Dr Watson carry one of those (or maybe the UK will have yet another revision of their firearms laws before then).

Can I make a request: what adjustments need to be made to the calculated when using Vehicles 2e (for GURPS 3e) to make guns for GURPS 4e.

That is beyond me, I don't trifle myself with advanced formulas, especially vehicle 2e, since I found the results to be not exactly in line with IRL statistics. When I design a weapon that isn't in GURPS, I simply take the closest firearm available and adjust it about. GURPS has specific breakpoints for acc, for dmg, for recoil, ST, and understanding them by familiarizing yourself with various guns available in the books is the key to success.

For example. How do I stat SIG SG552? Simple, it's virtually identical to HK53, so I simply use it's stat, with 20+1 magazine capacity and adjusted weight instead.

I'd personally consult Kalos, he's familiar with Vehicles 2e much more than me.

Haha, maybe! Although the big element of Doctor Watson is that he is an ex-soldier and thus uses his service pistol. For TL6 Dr Watson it was a Webley. For TL8 Dr Watson, it's SIG P226. I personally would be somewhat discouraged by the fact that Dr Watson has to use some sort of civilian loophole item, makes it uncool, you know? Maybe the laws should be revised instead to allow Doctor Watson to be armed with what he's supposed to be, as his weapon is often a plot point.

Another post on my blog. This time it isn't a draft!

GURPS Stealth & Camouflage Guide Update: Half-Ghillie, Face Masks, Black Camouflage, Bright Colors - Don't be bogged down by house rules. I revisit some aspects of my previous guides, where house rules were suggested, and replace them with RAW, rules legal alternatives. This one covers equipment.

This is important to note.

GURPS Vehicles gives you false precision that is actually less accurate than simply using your judgement from similar weapons in GURPS 4e. I wouldn't recommend that anyone uses that system to stat 4e small arms, not unless they obtain extravagant pleasure from using the system. Otherwise, it's a lot of effort for less plausible results.
