If You got an upgrade.
What it says on the tin. You've lived into the THS period and have a chance to use a Proteus Virus to become a parahuman or enhanced human type. What would you choose?
The Gilgamesh type looks good but Reduced Sleep always looks like an invite to brain damage to me. Utopian Parahumans (from Toxic Memes) also have their charms. Even if they don't have unaging.

Tennin III, duh. Second to that are Metanoia or Ziusudra. While Nyx is nice in theory, in practice the sleep reduction is nothing you can't get with nanos instead.
Either way, any upgrade is chosen with an eye to uploading sooner or later after that. The more I live, the more I'm becoming inclined to the idea that meat bodies are pointless outside the bedroom. |

A good choice. I can see its virtues. Any added IQ or mental advantages are worth a lot.

I'll take the straight Alpha Upgrade. It fixes most of my problems, while leaving me still pretty much myself.

A fair argument. Would you reclock your telomeres?

Since I'd be 139 years old in 2100, yes.

I'll be able to call you Whippersnapper. I'll be 140.

Re: If You got an upgrade.
I'd be about the same which is why I did that in 2088 when rejuve became available. It's only 12 years after uploading becomes possible.
That means uploads are no more than 24 years old in 2100 and have no real track record as to their potential longevity. They're definitely playing catch-up to organics in that department. Without computers made out of living metal I don't really see how they could.
