Default enchanting haste spell

In the gurps magic book its written that hast can be enchanted into a jewellery. I wanted to know what qualifies as a jewellery, because i have an shield with the named possession perk and i wanted to enchant haste on it to increase my dodge while i have it equipped.

Jewelery is generally defined as rings, necklaces, broaches, etc. Gems on a shield are too likely to be broken to be a good choice for enchantment.

A shield would not normally be considered jewelry, but the GM is free to make exceptions.

"Jewelry" refers to wearable finery, made with precious metals and/or gems: necklaces, rings, tiaras, and such. It is a separate category from "shields," "armor," "weapons," etc. That said, the type of item listed as appropriate for a given enchantment is a suggestion. The GM always has the final say.

A shield certainly isn't jewellery, but I don't think anything's going to break if you have Haste on a shield instead.

If the spell had only said "shoes," then it might have been suggesting that you needed something which had some reasonable symbolic connection to speed that could take the enchantment.

Once a spell lists generic "jewellery," I personally have no problem with a spell being enchantable into any object that is reasonably snazzy -- which a named shield would certainly qualify as. If you really want to, you could, oh, have symbols of Mercury's sandals lacquered around the border at a cost of a few hundred $, to hold the enchantment.
