Default Must... have...

giant... ANTS!
You know, if this was Halloween I bet I'd have no problem at all finding a bag of plastic ants. Right now, I have struck out in four different places: the party store, the craft store, the teacher's store and the dollar store.
Dang!

SJGames used to giant ants miniatures could find those but here is a link to the card board ones.

Thanks Bob. I think I may have some of the cardboard ones laying around in a shoebox somewhere.
What I really want are:

They'd be perfect for giants ants in my current campaign, and at that size, I could use them as even bigger bugs vs Traveller 15mm figures.

I've seen things like these at the Dollar Tree/Dollar General/Dollar Store. Might want to check there.

That was one of the places I checked yesterday. I hit a toy store, a game store, a $5 and under store and a novelty gift store today and still no luck.

I made some paper minis just now. They'll have to do. Thanks again for the suggestions!

Ahhhh, the irony... after I laid out the 24 paper minis I made for Friday night's game, and mentioned I had looked high and low for little plastic ants, my wife says to me, "we have a whole pack of them in with the Halloween decorations."
DOH!

I saw a bag of plastic toys called "Army Ants" many years ago, and I always regret not having picked them up. They were plastic ants with cartoony helmets, web gear, and guns. The mind boggles.

They were basically 1-1.5" high (but in a product like this "scale" is an alien concept), and were bipedal -- the other four arms held weaponry or gestured.
