Default The Shadow Nose and the Escape Goat

Alright, I wasn't able to find this searching, so here goes:

When facing the Shadow Nose, the bad stuff says: "You cannot flee; it automatically catches you. Lose 3 levels."

The Escape Goat steed says "When you fail to run away from a monster, you may discard the escape goat to transfer the effects of the bad stuff to a player of your choice."

I used the escape goat after I failed to beat the shadow nose, and my associates were of the opinion that since I "cannot flee" then I didn't "run away" and therefore couldn't "fail to run away". I feel that it is still running away according to how the game plays, and therefore failing to run away. Who is right?

You are right. Being unable to Run Away is a subset of failing to Run Away.
