state that your TK is taking an Attack maneuver to grab a gun from a foe. The following turn, you can Concentrate again and specify that your TK is taking an Aim or Wait maneuver to cover your enemy with the gun, an Attack maneuver to shoot him, or a Move maneuver to bring the gun to your hand." I'm pretty sure that that means that TK can use swords, at the very least it can use guns |

And PK said absolutely nothing about what Basic TK can and cannot do. ands scc posted the rule quote that show how Basic set TK does it. The main difference is TK grab has an activation rule on TK on top of the Skill roll to use the tool you are wielding via TK, and Basic TK doesn't have that activation role with turning on either Skill for averyone or Putting on Requires Roll Limitation on it. |

The other reason to reply to the post is that there are a lot of PK posts and now I have to sift through them and guess which one you're referencing. I think you mean this one. This post does NOT say you can't wield a broadsword with your TK and use Broadsword skill. With the TK Grab power, Telekinesis has been enhanced with "Based on IQ", so your Broadsword skill roll is floated to IQ, but you still use it. It doesn't get a separate bonus from Talent, but being able to float it to your IQ is often as good (if not better) for many mentalists.

Outside a Psi campaign I would be leery about floating combat skills to IQ because it means that all the Innate Attacks and such suddenly use the stat that most mentalists have as their highest. |

Re: [Powers] Using TK to Add to Normal ST
On page 92 of Basic: Characters, it says:
"Telekinesis requires constant concentration to use. In combat, this means you must take a Concentrate maneuver on your turn. Your TK may then perform one standard maneuver as if were a disembodied pair of hands at some point within your range: a Ready maneuver to pick up an object; a Move maneuver to lift and carry it; an Attack maneuver to throw it, or to grab or strike directly; and so on." So TK can be used to attack with a Broadsword. |

Compartimentalised Mind and No concentration required will help.
Note the times it takes to make various lifts in ST, this also applies in TK, so additional No concentration may need to be bought. |

Re: [Powers] Using TK to Add to Normal ST
I'm going to make a suggestion.
If this is something the character does regularly, perhaps buy ST as an alternate ability to the TK, instead of Compartmentalized mind and all that. If you just need to do it occasionally, consider doing it as a Stunt letting you use TK as ST "at default" (Powers p173), which would give you a minute's worth of ST if you spend 3 FP and make a Will+Talent - penalty roll (penalty is anywhere from -2 to -8 depending on how much ST you're trying to eek out of your TK). You can spend more FP to reduce the penalty.

Re: [Powers] Using TK to Add to Normal ST
Alternate Ability: Lifting ST N (Psionic, -10%) [0.54N] should do the trick, where N is your level of Telekinesis.

Re: [Powers] Using TK to Add to Normal ST
What about something like TK brass knuckles or using TK to protect your hands doing parries against weapons. I'm contemplating how to build the power using Basic's TK, not Psi Power's.

That would probably be a Power Block.
