Wouldn't this make more sense on like WotC's forums, and not here? At any rate the five tools of Moradin are all from a AD&D module called "Axe of the Dwarven Lords" which was published (by TSR) in 1999. Whelm is from "White Plume Mountain" (1979) which was module S2.

That seems to be six items: pick, axe, forge, anvil, hammer, axe.

Whelm is a warhammer, shouldn't be on that list, and was from "White Plume Mountain".

Still sounds like D&D to me.
I remember the magic clan forge was a thing in BECMI D&D, as noted the Axe had its own module - I think someone was after that around here recently - and again as noted Whelm was from White Plume Mountain but seems to be dwarf flavoured.

Why don't Dwarves have a climbing ax among their tools? You would think it something appropriate to their neighborhood and personality.

It is. As I said.

All five Tools of Moradin are from that module, as I said. The other four all primarily exist to have created the axe.

Same poster, which is why I was suggesting the WotC boards are probably better for D&D questions.

Yes, a dwarf adventurer left it there when he was killed.

Probably, but WotC doesn't have forums anymore.

Weird. I guess that's what I get for not having played D&D in years. How do they do instead? Discord? Facebook?

Well then a generic gaming forum like RPG.net might be better?

Giant in The Playground games has a pretty active forum that is mainly D&D themed...
