I started to say "the floor," too. XD

I may not be able to post again for about 24 hours.

Anyone with Basic Speed 6 may take their turn. Of course, anyone can talk and role play and such.

So I can stop typing "anyone with BS 6," from now on, I'm going to just say "Tier 2."

Tier 2 of the turn sequence is:
  • Player 3: Jovus playing Jim the Wizard, a dark one.
  • Player 4: ErhnamDJ playing Marcy le Rein the bard.
  • Player 5: Ericthered playing Jorin the Scoundrel, a thief.

That would make Tier 1:
  • Player 1: Stix4armz playing Jorek Ironhide the minotaur barbarian.
  • Player 2: Zoncxs playing Sir Hfuhruhurr the knight.

However, normally, I'll just call for tier 1 individually as they have different Basic Speeds. There will be times--and there has already been one time--that I'll just say that Tier 1 can take their turn.

These very minor concessions in turn sequence are for the streamlining of the play-by-post environment.

I may switch up Jim's spell list after this battle is over, if that's alright (and, of course, pending your approval of the spells). I'm coming to realize that the malisons build recommended by DF 1 is something of a trap.

By all means, be my guest. :)

My last post was interrupted. May want to pause the game until I upload the revised map.

I meant to mention not to take concern with the addition of the four dais added to the map. It's where the golems will begin in the renovated dungeon.

I believe I'm going to add a treasure chest and gargoyle statues around the bridge.

Sir H was right in his the guess that the golems wouldn't move unless the bridge was encroached. You could have walked past the golems without them waking.

With the redesign, they will only move if the treasure chest is touched without first... well, let's just say their trigger will be changed. ;)

Now, will the gargoyles trigger if the bridge is crossed? Who knows? Probably not. Actually, I'm sure the bridge is 100% safe and of no danger at all whatsoever. Please, everyone lower their guard completely now.

Heh, heh. >:)

No! That wasn't an evil GM laugh!

Here's an some ideas about treasure placement and dungeon layout:

Layer 1: Mausoleum. Healing supplies and basic equipment.
Layer 2: Watery cavern. Gold.
Layer 3: Floating rock islands. Negligible treasure.
Layer 4: Infinite labyrinth with castles, forests, mountains, lakes, etc. Treasure galore.
Layer 5: Snow and ice.
Layer 6: Darkness. Gray waste.
Layer 7: Egyptian-themed desert.
Layer 8: Big evil castle.
Layer 9: Infinite fiery abyss. Volcanic cavern.

As for the golem's drops, I've decided to go with my first instinct about their weapons and armor. By the time the torn-up armor is cut off their bodies (bring a can opener?), it will be of more use as scrap. Handing over powerful equipment like a full suit of bronze armor and souped-up lightning weapons for free in the very first room of the very first dungeon would be counter productive. Now, does that mean there won't be a giant or ogre or skeletal version of such later? Who knows? :) Whatever the case, like I say, I hope you will all find the treasure generous throughout the whole dungeon. I know it's fun to loot items off kills, too, so expect that. Just not with these golems. Their hammers are still on the floor, though.

As regards players taking opponents' armor and weapons as treasure, this may be of use: http://dungeonfantastic.blogspot.com...n-empties.html

You could also reduce the HP/DR of the items in question by a similar amount, making them less useful.

Thanks! I have Peter's blog bookmarked, but I've not read that entry.

By the way, update your spell list as much as you like, but keep the light spell everyone is using. The rotting death never actually came to play, so you can be rid of it if you like.

Glue and Stench are both awesome, IMO. I like Death Vision, too. A bunch of cool spells. The only missile spell I like--in the unlikely event I even take one--is the ice one, Ice Spear or whatever.

Okay, the map is updated. I'll provide a description here in a bit. Basically, the bridge has four small (dog/chimp-sized) gargoyle statues, one at each post. there's a big stone box (treasure chest?) on the bridge with runic reliefs.

Jim's spell wouldn't have noticed any enchantment on the statues, but there is one on the chest.

I'm bummed about the armor because it was SM+1 armor and that's not as common as other pieces of armor, but its no biggie. Jorek is a berserker, so its not vital that he have armor. Yet. I'm sure I'll want to get more armor later.

I'm here to playtest your dungeon man, don't worry about making me happy. Smashing golems into rubble makes me plenty happy. :)

Planning to. Should I also endeavour to keep Minor Healing?
