I found an uncut ziplock CW on ebay a couple years ago. The counter sheet has 1/4 inch vehicles instead of the pink 'car 1, car 2, etc.' counters from the pocket box

That sheet wasn't from the ziplock or pocket box. If I recall, some later versions of the Deluxe boxed set had those. FWIW, they definitely did look nicer.

Copyright date does not necessarily equal printing date.

The guy who originally introduced me to Car Wars had that set. If I recall correctly he had a pocket box, but it's been 35+ years so I don't know if I recall correctly. I do remember that when I got my original pocket box, it had the pink numbered car counters.

Forgive my late arrival to the party I haven't been hanging around much as of recent. Whats news on CWv6 ? surly that v6 should be up there or is this to generate some interest in CW and or money to support v6 going out or have I missed loads while I have been away. One of the reasons I havent been around was the delays on v6 :(

The game is still in the works. We've shared info and will continue to do so. You can find a thread or two here in the forums with links to images/posts.
