Default GCA4 File Format

Is there a file format spec for characters saved through GCA4?

Most of it I can figure out. I know that the save is designed to be loaded independently of the data files (so that someone else loading your file doesn't have to match your data files exactly, which would be tedious).

But there are a few things I'm hung up on. For example, why is the idkey field usually, except for a few cases, followed by a pipe?

Example:
Code:
idkey(140)|,name(Unappealing),cat(),basevalue(0),display(no),syslevels(0),basescore(0),needscheck(-1),taboofailed(0)
Any idea?

Default Re: GCA4 File Format

The traits blocks have two sections in the line: identifiers and tags, separated by the pipe.

So, the idkey(), parentkey(), and childkeylist() are always in the first section, followed by the pipe, then the tag list. If there are no parentkey() and/or childkeylist() tags, then they aren't included in the indentifiers section, and idkey() is immediately followed by the pipe.

TLDR: the pipe separates two sections of data in the traits blocks of the file.
