Re: What would you play in an ISWAT campaign? (request for character ideas and stats)
I'd go with an early 21st Century special operator/secret agent face-man who specializes in human intelligence, but who has the skills to dish out some serious pain if things go pear-shaped.
Here's the thing; laws of physics may change from dimension to dimension, and people may have all sorts of weird abilities. However, no matter what the physical laws may be, people are still people. They're gonna want things, and do things, and while different abilities may provide different means, the ends remain fairly similar. So, I'd want to play a character who can deal successfully with people, no matter where he is or what's going on around him. James Bond is always useful. :)

Also, why assume that we are the only people in all the multiverse? As it is, we seem to be an a-la-carte mish mash of previous species and genetic populations that got incest-ed by a couple of near extinction event bottlenecks. It wouldn't take much to radically change what it means to be human, maybe.

Re: What would you play in an ISWAT campaign? (request for character ideas and stats)
Things that I've had in my ISWAT games (which I don't have the stats for right now):
Vampire Gunslinger: Vampire racial template, high DX and Guns! plus Gunslinger, ambidextrous, Enhanced Tracking 1, and Extra Attack 1 TL11^ Velociraptor Hacker-Mage: Using Syntactic Threshold magic, skills in hacking, programming, and electronics repair and Delusion: The universe is a simulation. Immortal Kung-fu Monkey:spent most of his points on Unkillable 3 and Regeneration (very fast, only when dead), but had decent scores in Karate and Judo Four armed combat cyborg and his living ship: This was before I got ahold of Spaceships, and so the ship actually kinda sucks. Really my advice for coming up with interesting concepts is to grab two books at random and use those as the main focus for a character's abilities. Imbuements and Gun-Fu? Matrix-style gunslinger Ultra-Tech and Thaumatology? Character is from a TL(3+7^) world Horror and Dragons? One of the old style of dragons. |
