No more absurd than trying to giving moose Parry Missile Weapon. Or using Bunnies and Burrows as the basis of comparison.

You know, Bestiary 3e still doesn't give us the nasty moose bite.

That is pretty random. That happen a lot with moose?

Default Armadillo

I chose to convert the armadillo from Bestiary 3e (page 6), since Kevin Muņoz hadn't already done it and to best adapt to the points format. I'm not a zoologist; I used Bestiary 3e, Wikipedia and a bunch of 4e books.

Armadillo (-169 points)

ST 5 (No Fine Manipulators, -40%) [-30]; DX 9 (No Fine Manipulators, -40%) [-12]; IQ 3 [-140]; HT 12 [20].
Damage 1d-4/1d-3; BL 5 lbs.; HP 6 [2]; Will 10; Per 9 [30]; FP 12 [0];
Basic Speed 5.25 [0]; Basic Move 8 [15]; Dodge 8.
SM -2.

Advantages
Damage Resistance 2 (Partial, All but underside, -5%) [10]; Sharp Claws [5].
Perks: Burrower [1].

Disadvantages: Bad Sight (Nearsighted) [-25]; Color Blindness [-10]; Loner (12) [-5]; Quadruped [-35]; Wild Animal [-30].

Claws (9): 1d-5 cutting.

That's too bad, I don't care at all about CPs. I wonder if the majority of GURPS fans want CPs or if it's just a vocal minority?

I can see the advantage to having CPs, but the need will show up so rarely in my games that "winging it" will work. The downside of CPs is that I find the information overload to be distracting and I also miss my stat block/no points bestiaries that would have come out in 2006.

So, I'm waiting on books that could have been published years ago but weren't because of the perceived "need" for details that I couldn't care less about. Well, that sucks for me (or any fans who feel the same).

It really does matter if you want to take the animal as an Ally, or use Morph or Alternate Form to shapeshift into. It's especially important for Morph because in theory you ought to be able to Morph into anything, not just the two or three things you've worked out in advance.

Right, which points to the need for such a Bestiary to ideally be as broad as the writer's knowledge allows. No book will cover every animal lifeform, but interested GM's will want to find something close to a proposed Ally (or Shapeshifted form), to facilitate the creation of their own template based on reasonable guesswork.

It should cover all currently extant megafauna and apex predators as well as an iconic examples of nearly every vertebrate order or superorder.

That's just like you vertebrate chauvinists. Here I was, getting ready to stat up some decent anaerobic bacteria, but no...forget it now. My stats for tapeworms would have been a thing of beauty, but now....
