I think I've got it: Find wherever the Hearts of Uriel's Orphaned Tsyadim are hidden. Not a small plot seed, but lots of ways it could play out.

In my game, at least, it makes a lot of sense, and it can borrow from the above link about the disturbance in Uriel's Cathedral. The aforementioned angel on trial is a Servitor of Purity (in the canon setting in which Uriel is gone). He's on trial for desertion, as he's been quietly serving as a priest for centuries and doing small favors to Eli and Novalis upon request. What would really count in his favor is if the PCs could find his Heart and prove he never went Outcast -- but it's being hidden wherever the Tsyadim Hearts are hidden...

In my game, at least, The reason nobody has ever been able to find these Hearts in Heaven is that they're in a room of Uriel's Cathedral that performs the Song of Faith on anyone who enters, turning them into an automaton of the Almighty. You're only able to get in and get out with those Hearts if God wills it so ... and God is going to want to help the PCs protect this NPC, if they're willing to delve into a Cathedral where they're not entirely welcome.

(How do you blank out text so you need to highlight it to read it, anyway? The spoiler tag seems very clunky.)

Place the word FNORD in brackets before the phrase you want to "blank out." At the end of the phrase, do the same but put a slash / before the word FNORD.

So it should look something like this (I've put spaces between the symbols so you can see it here, don't use the spaces in the actual brackets):

[ FNORD ] When properly closed up, this statement will be invisible. [ /FNORD ]

See what I mean?

That is hilarious. I saw 'fnord' used in this context elsewhere around here to refer to this, but I didn't realize it had literally been made into a tag. Thanks!

Not exactly what the OP is talking about, but a thread I started back in 2007 might be of interest:

Things to do in Heaven when you're dead
