If nothing else, neither of you can win the fight alone. It's a team effort. So why should one of you get a bigger reward? You both get a level and equal treasures. If anything, that's MORE fair than before. In big battles with lots of treasure, I frequently see the helper get more than half to compensate for not getting a level. Either way, a deal is a deal. Even if the circumstances change, the deal holds

Re: Negotiating
Point of order: unless a card specifically says otherwise, you can't negotiate for levels. Treasure cards, including GUALs, are fair game, but you can't just say (for instance) "the monster's worth two levels and five treasures; I'll give you one and two."

Re: Negotiating
Point of rebuttal: read the original post. He used a Munchkinomicon spell that gave him a level.

Re: Negotiating
i was a level 7 and asked help from the highest combat level guy to beat a monster while i was looking for trouble, he agreed for all the treasures, so i threw down the monster and 2 level up cards then chanted the 2.6 seconds and won the game, lucky for me i don't play with cry babies we all laughed and started a new game...

Re: Negotiating
I make good deals, but even then sometimes something like this happens.
I shrug it off and accept the changed situation,; sometimes I even applaud a very Munchkinly action, because I know that next time, I'll be playing Curse! Change Race on myself when I'm helping in a combat to become an Elf ;)

Re: Negotiating
True enough - just clarifying that levels aren't something that can normally be offered to a helper, as that's a mistake I see relatively often. As I noted, card-based exceptions are a different story, and that Spell is obviously one such exception.

Re: Negotiating
Is it true that you can re-negotiate after a deal has been made? Seems to defeat the purpose of binding deals.
