Default Power Investiture Level for new Spells

Hello!
How do I calculate/set Power Investiture requisite for a new spell I would like add to the Cleric Spell List?

I can't find this anywhere =(

Thank you!

Default Re: Power Investiture Level for new Spells

You estimate it, based on the existing examples and the desired theme of the Power Investiture.

As an example, Create Food has about 5 prerequisites for wizards (Ignite Fire, Create Fire, Test Food, Cook, and Seek Food). It's a PI 3 spell for standard clerics. If you're using the alternate spell lists from DF 7: Clerics, it stays PI 3 for City Priests, Harvest Priests, Healing Priests, Messenger Priests, and Sea Priests; but it changes to PI 4 Hunter Priests and Sun Priests; changes to PI 5 for Death Priests; and isn't available for City Priests, Earth Priests, Fire Priests, Love Priests, Night Priests, Storm Priests, and War Priests.

As a guideline, I'd generally start with a PI equal to half the prerequisite count or equal to the PI of other spells I consider equally powerful and useful. Then I'd adjust by up to 2 PI for spells that are especially suited or ill-suited to a god's theme.

I'm actually surprised that Create Food isn't PI 2 for Harvest priests - it seems very much something they should do easily.
