Default Curse wander for 10 years

A player played wendingo then magic lamped him. Afterwards a player played curse wander for ten years make him end his turn and skip to charity phase. (Discarding any cards played if you were in combat).
Argument was the player said the monster was magic lamped and was gone out of battle and was no longer in battle. And should get treasure for the magic lamp.
What should happen and could that curse have been played since there was no moster in battle anymore?

The card can be played whenever, so, yes, it can be played if there is no Monster. I'm inclined to say that the victim wouldn't get to draw his Treasures, but I'm feeling a little salty this morning. Maybe Andrew has an informed opinion.
