The players weren't expecting werewolf-kobolds. They were used to using their characters to walk over kobolds. Then two of the kobolds changed into werewolves. The player characters had no silver weapons, they hadn't brought Holy Water, they freaked out. My siblings, who are two of the players, got upset. They threatened to not give me a birthday cake for my next birthday. I was okay with that. But they weren't. So... I'm no longer allowed to have werewolf-kobolds in any game I referee. Ever. I think they'll disown me if I pull that on them again.

I have a counter plan anyway.
