How would they fill the "In The Labyrinth: Bests of the World" - monster guide?

Indeed, there needs to be at least one separate book devoted completely to monsters and beasts. No question about that.

Wasn't there an AD&D conversion guide in one of the old Gamer magazines back in the day? I remember my buddy went thru the Monster Manual and converted a ton of monsters for our HS campaign. He had them on index cards.

You could do a lot worse than simply starting with the 3rd edition GURPS Fantasy Bestiary (and the Fantasy Folk book too) and converting them to TFT stats/descriptions. That's probably an 80-85% solution right there. Then you could pad them with the new creatures you've already added in ITL, and any additional ones you want to throw in from mythology, or any of your other Fantasy or Bestiary books from GURPS and you'd have a complete book in pretty record time. (Plus, I always thought the way the Bestiary book was organized was the most useful one I'd ever seen.)

An even easier method would be to buy the Bestiary from Heroes and Other Worlds and you'd have almost all the D&D creatures already pretty much converted (though, honestly, I think they're a bit overpowered in TFT terms). That would save you weeks of work. You can find it here.

IMO they could do a lot better, too. Those books mostly didn't really fit the flavor of Cidri / TFT races & monsters to me in many ways (strawberry Exalted Horses?). The non-fantasy 3e Bestiary, though, yes.

*sigh* Obviously they would be expected to pick and choose what goes in, and you'll note the part where I said; "and converting them to TFT stats/descriptions," which would produce that "flavor."

I would expect that anyone doing this project would exercise a bit of judgement and not slavishly follow the existing volume.
