You could do a fair number of tasks in half the time. Both physical tasks like construction and mental task like Research.

I'd say that this would mostly apply to long tasks that require lots of ordinary work where said work is easily divisible.

Things where the task requires a single major skill roll to determine the quality of the outcome might not be eligable. also task where the whole thing needs to performed in a specific order with one section after the next.

Use the rules for Long Tasks in GURPS Campaigns. GURPS Supers even has an explicit modifier for Duplication that makes it even more powerful in this particular circumstance.

Would that still work if the Duplication in question had Construct on it?

Of course. That only matters if the dupe get's destroyed.
