GURPS Gun Fu(n)
Yeah!! No more of that namby-pamby fantasy-y stuff! It's time to jump around like maniacs while wearing black leather coats and destroying all the furniture by spewing screaming hot lead from the barrels of mankind's greatest invention since rock-on-a-stick! GURPS Gun Fu is now available. Less "kiss, kiss", more "bang, bang!"

Re: GURPS Gun Fu(n)
Wo-ho! I wasn't originally interested in getting this, but the Gunsmithing and Accessories chapters convinced me - well, that and I just started playing a Gun Fu-type character in a game a week or two ago.
(of course, finding out my stocks had literally doubled since I last checked on them might have something to do with it, too, but that's just a happy coincidence that it happened today) Looking nice so far. Must go read now. |

Re: GURPS Gun Fu(n)
Just the first few pages are awesome in content and style - even the crunch oozes the feel all over the place. Much exiting imagery results.
Huzzah! Indeed!

The Inspirational Fiction Appendix is also excellent.
Notes on Styles, Advantages, Perks, etc used by (primarily) TV & Movie Gun Fu characters - so you can get a really good visual idea of what these GURPS Traits look like in appropriate fiction! |

Awesome. Purchased.
I'm really hoping for Action 1-3+ and Gun Fu to perhaps be combined into a hardback someday... probably not going to happen, I know, but a man can dream.

Re: GURPS Gun Fu(n)
I was surprised to see credit on this one, I didn't think I had done enough to merit it (Gladiators was no surprise though, I really didn't have more to say, though I gave it a good readout). Still, it's wicked cool, with loads of nifty ideas. Oh, and it seems that my suggestion for an reference to imbuements made it past editing, and so did my recommendation of Eraser for the filmography (one of my favorite non-crunchy parts of the book. It's geek fanservice, similar to how most of us [Or at least my friends and I] used to stat every character of a movie we saw/book we read in our system of choice when we were younger)

Re: GURPS Gun Fu(n)
A couple of small questions: how much does this overlap with the character options in High Tech? It seems some material is repeated there, from the blurb on e23. I'm sure it's not much, but I would like to know :).
Also, I heard there will be a "Tactical Shooting" supplement in the future - how much will Gun Fu overlap with that? I've never shot a gun in my life, but I do like to read about the subject :). |
