Similar principles in many genres. Do your cyberpunk implants cost in-game currency as well as meta-game CP? Do you have to spend in-game money for training or supplies to get a new ability, learn a new spell or skill? Often enough the two simply go in parallel. You need both the CP resources for some Advantage as well as the in-game resources and actions to spend those CP.

I actually wouldn't allow "my character is really comfortable with his weapon" as a justification for Weapon Bond. Players can come up with better justifications than that, and those will likely have some interesting roleplaying possibilities, which "guess I just lucked out" doesn't.
