Well, sir, I'd say it's a good review, since it convinced me to buy a copy.

I think I need to use less parenthetical comments, maybe trim down the length for future ones, and figure out once and for all when I should be using its v. it's.

its: belonging to this object (its aura, its car, its master).

it's: contraction for "it is" or "it has" (it's been fun, it's great to see you, it's a lie)

its': does not occur in nature and is grounds for revocation of your poetic license

I was just skimming at the time. In particular, I was seeing if it had any material for western shootouts.

I'll try to give a meaningful critique once I've read both book and review closely.

Good review. It went into enough detail to be interesting, without trying to reproduce every heading and concept in the book.

The only thing that seemed a bit 'clunky' to me was the large percentage of the review that was aimed at people who don't play GURPS. As a rule, those people don't download GURPS stuff from e23, especially not rules-heavy stuff like Gun Fu. It just seemed like an awful lot of wordcount aimed at an audience that doesn't really exist.

I'm hoping to create an audience, at least partially. Everyone likes to talk about how useful 3E GURPS books are as reference material for other games systems. However, I think unless you're a GURPS gamer, you probably aren't really aware of what's coming out on e23. I plan on reviewing everything that comes out (and catching up on a backlog of releases I'm not sure has been reviewed yet) and I'm hoping in doing so, I'll funnel more folks towards e23 and eventually GURPS when they realize that what they see on the shelves of their LGS isn't the only products available for the line.

As part of that goal, I plan on trying to review products both for the GURPS gamer and the non-GURPS gamer picking it up for another system. Although it did feel clunky doing so on a chapter-by-chapter basis and perhaps in the future I'll just include a mini-summary at the end of the review for the non-GURPS gamer.

You might want to fix the reference to GURPS Marital Arts lurking in the Styles section of the review!
