At the beginning/end of one's own wall of text it's used to show where a summary of the post can be found, although it's usually written as "TLDR version".

And let's be clear:

Posting a huge wall of text, and then including a "tl;dr version" at the bottom as a summary of your own stuff is courteous and perfectly fine to do.

Beginning your response to someone's post with "tl;dr" because you thought they wrote too much is very rude. Don't do it here, and you really shouldn't do it anywhere.

Wouldn't it be better to just put "In summary" or "To sum up" or something? "Too long, Didn't Read" implies that you suppose the reader is impatient at least, IMO.

Looked for the first 5-6 pages and didn't see these:

GURPS - Generic Universal RolePlaying System
GCA - GURPS Character Assisstant
GCB - GURPS Character Builder
GVB - GURPS Vehicle Builder

The first one is rather redundant, but the other three I'm adding.

This probably isn't the right place for an obscure in-joke.

I'd suggest separate entries-
LT
LTC
CCoI

Also, for the sake of updating the list-
SS 1-8 for the Spaceships series
MH for Monster Hunters

Any other recent notables?

"Handwavium" is a term you guys use a lot. I've worked out what it means (it's not unobvious) but you might wanna stick it in here anyway.

I think this thread should retain its focus on abbreviations. "Handwavium" isn't an abbreviation.

ok, well it's a term that's used a lot and it would save newbies asking "what does X mean?" you know, i'm only trying to help.
