Character - Weird Magician
Hi everyone!
I was reading Powers - The Weird manual and liked the Para-Energy section (pg 35) enough to try tweaking two of the abilities (Force Shield and Force Burst) and then I ended up making a 300CP character that uses them, but before I share anything I must preface this by saying that I'm still fairly "new" to GURPS (got serious last September) so forgive me if I've made any grave errors in character creation! I tried using these fora to get some extra ideas and to verify if what I was doing was allowed or what limitations were legal or not...the basis for the ranged healing ability Shannon uses was posted on here a while ago. Anyhow, I'm not sure if this is the correct format for a posting a character sheet on here, but this is what GCA exported when I used the "export" option. If you want more details/numbers, just ask me and I'll try and answer your questions! Alright, so what do you think? Have you worked out what the minimum blast range is on the attack? Shannon's going to be running away a lot in combat to get to blast range if it's based on visible range with a Per like that.
What's the described effect of the Weird power origin? Is there a counter to Weird abilities? What's the ER power recharge condition? What's the partial unhealing? I'm assuming Shannon's own healing is the only way, given what you've designed. What's the background story reasons for MS and Numb? Side effects of gaining the powers? And if the MS is asymptomatic how is the character inconvenienced? Would the Social Stigma work better as an Odious Personal Habit "obtrusively 'occult' in dress and behaviour."? I do like the idea of 'defend or fly'.

I did remove minimum range after reading your logical point, lol. I also added selective area and variable to it while knocking up the explosive radius tot the third level (+150%), which divides damage by the distance in yards and is +150%. Weird power modifier from the Weird manual says, "The standard modifier treats weirdness as many comics treat superpowers: The same anti-powers and technologies are effective against all weird powers." So that's what I'm going with. The ER power recharge condition is from the Force Shield Absorption, FP-Only modifier. Actually, that kind of DR absorption for FP only restores ER. So whenever the shield takes damage, it restores some ER. Partial unhealing means she can only be healed by un-natural means, so her own healing or via someone else's ability. In the Compendium it was also called "No Natural Healing." The background story for the MS? Truth be told, I have asymptomatic MS, so I just gave her one of my own rl disdvantages, lol. While numbness is a common symptom of MS, I had in mind something similar to an acquired peripheral neuropathy for the numbness, sorry I can't be more specific because, I, fortunately, don't have that symptom IRL. :/ For the MS disadvantage thing, I halved the penalty on neurological disorders from -2 to -1 to GR:High Manual Dexterity and reduced the value from -15 CP to -8 CP. Does that make sense? I like the social stigma idea and have taken what you've suggested to heart and modified her stuff, so thank you! Clarified nicely. Looks good.
Although I might put Numb (AMS) [-20] rather than two separate disads--give it as the reason for Numb, rather than its own thing. Depends how and how much the AMS affects you separately from Numb.
