Announcing Phoenix 1.44 (requires GCA 4.0.371 or later).

Phoenix is always available from: http://www.motoslave.net/thom/gca/phoenix/

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Phoenix 1.44 highlights:
  • Changed how portraits are printed, so that a bad image path should not cause the sheet to crash.
  • Changed how character references are managed internally, so that the sheet is now 7-bit clean. What this means is that the sheet can now be used on systems using a double-byte character set; e.g. Shift JIS.

Announcing Bookish Layout r07 (requires GCA 4.0.371 or later).

Bookish Layout is always available from: http://www.motoslave.net/thom/gca/sheets/

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bookish Layout r07 highlights:
  • Added support for combinations to the Skills block.
You won't be able to make use of the new feature until the next GCA release, but it shouldn't cause any problems with the current one. And I was pushing stuff out, so here you go, a release with a feature you can't use yet. :P

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Phoenix r46 highlights:
  • Added a new option to both the Equipment and Load-Out blocks to control whether armor location details print.
  • Added support for the highlight() tag to several of the list-type blocks (currently the Advantage-type, Skill-type, Melee/Ranged Attacks, and Spell Grimoire blocks).
  • Various minor tweaks and adjustments.

Announcing Phoenix r47 (requires GCA 4.0.371 or later).

Phoenix is always available from: http://www.motoslave.net/thom/gca/phoenix/

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Phoenix r47 highlights:
  • Added a new option to both the Melee and Ranged Attacks blocks to force the printing of attack mode names even for attacks with only one mode. Note, however, that mode names which are identical to their attack names are still not printed, to avoid things like "Bite: Bite".
  • Fixed a fatal bug in the trait highlighting code which triggers when blank lines are requested for a block which supports trait highlighting.
  • Minor adjustment to the width and height of the logo area.

Announcing Phoenix r48 (requires GCA 4.0.371 or later).

Phoenix is always available from: http://www.motoslave.net/thom/gca/phoenix/

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Phoenix r48 highlights:
  • Added support for the highlight() tag to the Equipment and Load-Outs blocks.
  • Changed how the highlight() tag is processed, so that in addition to the normal boolean style of usage, where the trait is highlighted in every block, it can now also be used as an opt-out list. If the value of the highlight() tag starts with an exclamation mark ("!") it is treated as a vertical-bar/pipe ("|") delimited list of blocks in which the trait should not be highlighted (e.g. "highlight(!template)" or "highlight(!melee|ranged)"). Blocks are identified by their common name, which is the same as their title, and abbreviations may be used (e.g. the Melee Attacks block can be identified as: "me", "melee", "melee attacks", etc).
  • Minor adjustment to how statistics print. If a requested statistic trait does not exist, nothing is printed for that trait; the old behavior was to print its name and an otherwise empty stat box.
  • Minor adjustment to the logo area.

Announcing Phoenix r49 (requires GCA 4.0.371 or later).

Phoenix is always available from: http://www.motoslave.net/thom/gca/phoenix/

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Phoenix r49 highlights:
  • Added, optional, support for printing the paper-doll mode of the Defenses block using the full page width (default: disabled).
  • Minor adjustment to how footnotes determine how many sub-columns to use.
