I have no intention to feature a monster statblock in the book itself if it's a duplicate of an existing creature from Monsters, with the possible exception of Bear and Dire Wolf, which are so on point that it might be simply be silly to reskin them.
Can Playeers play altar and nordalfs as PCs?

No. Absolutely not. They're monsters.

Even if they don't make it into the book (which I understand), would you consider doing a little Designer's Notes and write them up as templates? I'm sure it'd be fairly easy to reverse-engineer them when I have the PDF (and hopefully book!) in front of me, but it'd be nice to have straight from you. I imagine that a lot of people would find it pretty neat to have some special PC templates relevant to the adventure. It makes me think of Pyramid #3/89's Eastern Adventures, which had some setting related stuff, a new lens, and two new races. Just a thought!

I don't accept that more or less have any necessary connection to simple or complex.

GURPS Martial Arts is a much larger book with many more rules that GURPS Martial Arts Technical Grappling it is also overall less complex.

One thing Martial Arts did (in the techniques section at least) was repeat some of the rules and techniques from Basic Set.

One thing Technical Grappling didn't do was repeat much of the Basic Set and Martial Arts that it replied upon.

Flipping back and forth between books is one thing that makes a system more complex for me.

DFRPG not relying on Basic Set, Magic and so on is one of the things that makes it less complex for me. It also introduced an abundance of small rules changes that usually mean I have to look something up in DFRPG to be sure it hasn't changed, which makes it more difficult when rules are spread out.

It sounds though, that here, the relevant sections of DFRPG Exploits are being worked into the text. That's not as ideal as putting everything into Exploits, but its good not to have to have two books open just to understand something.

You don't pay until the campaign funds. So you can back any day that you like.

Eh. I get it. I don't spend money I don't have either, with the sort-of exception of my house.

This book sounds interesting. I hope it will have humanoids like trolls and kobolds instead or orcs, goblins, hobgoblins and ogres which fit better in a Tolkien world and the standard D&D Dungeon. For me I enjoy having the monsters and humanoids fit the game world.
