Finally someone who actually agrees with me.
Look, I know a few things:
• You want to make money.
• You don't want your idea to turn into someone else's via mods.
• You want the computer game to close match the real game.

But it's one small sound that gets irritating over several iterations and making a simple hotkey to mute it would take all of 10 minutes (at most).

Is the request for a mute hotkey, or alternative sound effects?

Editable hotkeys have been suggested before and are something we'd like to add in future, but muting specifically just units (while leaving music, other SFX etc.) is possible in the game menu. If the demand is there for it, it's possible we could add a hotkey.

Alternative unit selection SFX are certainly possible. How likely it is that they will go in is hard to say unfortunately.
