Default Marvel Munchkin Trap Question

We took our new Marvel Munchkin on it's maiden voyage last night. Loved it! Though, I hope that the two expansions have more one shots.

I have a question. When kicking down the door, Player A got hit by a trap that made him trade every card in play with the munchkin on his right (Player B). Player B had a Invulnerability Power which made him immune to traps.

Would the Invulnerability prevent the trap from taking effect at all? Or would the trap still work since Player A was the one targeted?

Just a follow up on this, if the person to the right was a Spider Friend, can they use their ability to negate the trap?

The Trap would work. Invulnerability doesn't protect you from Traps on other players, even if they have secondary effects, unless the Trap says it actually hits multiple players. In this case, the Trap is only on Player A; that it also affects Player B is a side effect.

No. You can't avoid a Trap that doesn't hit you directly.

Perfect, that's how I had ruled it, but the other muchkins at the table wanted an official ruling.

If a person drew swap identites and you wanted to keep your cards could you use the one shot "Cancel ANY Trap" to escape this trap? I felt that the ANY in the title of the card allowed it but my friend disagreed. Please send a reply i know you guys posted 2 years ago but please get back to me

To follow up, in the case that this card DOES hit, "cards" only refers to cards drawn from the decks correct?

The oldest post in this thread is less than 5 months ago, so you'll have to forgive me for being a little confused. To what are you referring? Perhaps there's another thread to which you'd like us to address a previous answer?

I honestly don't have the card in front of me to give a complete answer, but "cards" almost always refers to the cards you have in play and/or in your hand. What card (or otherwise), specifically, did you have in mind that you want to ask about, rather than us try to guess at what might be considered "cards," but that don't come from the deck.

The argument started over the character cards you choose at the beginning of the game.
