Re: Help rebuilding Batman-like Supers character
Try this...
Shadow Falcon v5 Age 23; Human; 5'10; 160 ST 11 [10]; DX 12 [40]; IQ 12 [40]; HT 12 [20]. Damage 1d-1/1d+1; BL 24 lbs.; HP 11 [0]; Will 12 [0]; Per 13 [5]; FP 12 [0]. Basic Speed 6.00 [0]; Basic Move 6 [0]; Block 10 (Cloak); Dodge 10; Parry 11 (Karate or Smallsword). Social Background TL: 9 [0]. CF: Need to spend a point or two here for CF both for his native land and Western. Languages: Probably need to spend some on English, unless it's the native tongue of his country. Advantages Ambidexterity [5]; Combat Reflexes [15]; Eidetic Memory [5]; Fit [5]; Flight (Controlled Gliding; Gadget/Breakable: DR 3-5; Gadget/Breakable: Size 0 or more; Gadget/Can Be Stolen: Must be forcefully removed) [8]; Gizmo 2 (Focus Limited: Can fit in a utility belt/web gear; Trait Limited: Technological Items Only) [7]; High TL 1 [5]; Independent Income (Swiss Bank Account) 3 [3]; Signature Gear (Talon Shuriken, Armor, Boots, Gloves, Bike, NVG) 2 [2]; Trained By A Master [30]; Wealth (Comfortable) [10]. Perks: Climbing Line; Cloaked; Masked; Style Familiarity (Stickfighting - African Stickfighting) [4]. Disadvantages Charitable (12 or less) [-15]; Curious (12 or less) [-5]; Enemy (Brother/King of Home Country) (More powerful than the PC) (Evil Twin is more skilled than you and posseses abilities that you do not; 6 or less; Hunter) [-15]; Honesty (12 or less) [-10]; Pacifism (Cannot Kill) [-15]; Secret Identity (Kwame M'witu) (Imprisonment or Exile) [-20]; Selfless (12 or less) [-5]; Sense of Duty (everyone) (Large Group) [-10]. Quirks: Dreamer; Humble; Imaginative; Trademark (Falcons); Vow (Do not return home) [-5]. Skills Acrobatics-12 (DX) [4]; Acting-12 (IQ+0) [2]; Aerobatics-11 (DX-1) [2]; Area Knowledge (Atlanta)-12 (IQ+0) [1]; Climbing-12 (DX+0) [2]; Cloak-12 (DX+0) [2]; Computer Operation/TL9-13 (IQ+1) [2]; Computer Programming/TL9-12 (IQ+0) [4]; Criminology/TL9-13 (IQ+1) [4]; Driving/TL8 (Motorcycle)-11 (DX-1) [1]; Escape-11 (DX-1) [2]; Fast-Draw (Shuriken)-14 (DX+2) [2]; First Aid/TL8 (Human)-12 (IQ+0) [1]; Forensics/TL9-12 (IQ+0) [4]; Hypnotism (Human)-12 (IQ) [4]; Intimidation-12 (Will) [2]; Invisibility Art-11 (IQ-1) [4]; Judo-12 (DX) [4]; Karate-14 (DX+2) [12]; Piloting/TL8 (Glider)-13 (DX+1) [4]; Smallsword-14 (DX+2) [2]; Stealth-14 (DX+2) [8]; Streetwise-11 (IQ-1) [1]; Tactics-12 (IQ) [4]; Thrown Weapon (Shuriken)-13 (DX+2) [4]. His damage, Dodge, and primary combat skills are better, although his Parry is one less. He's still not getting much use out of Trained By A Master, but could grow into it; a viable option would be to drop TBAM and Invisibility Art entirely and pump those 34 points into DX, IQ, and/or skills directly. And maybe another point or two of Sig Gear - if his $20,000 is meant to cover his armor, weapons, motorcycle, etc., he's going to have to shop carefully, especially if he's picking out any double-cost TL9 items to justify the High TL advantage. |

Re: Help rebuilding Batman-like Supers character
Thanks for the immense help, especially regarding the TBAM and the skills. I figured as much, but I thought I might have been missing something.
Quick question though: where do I find the Craftiness Talent? EDIT: I also tried my hand at making talents. One is basically adapting the Fist! Wildcard into a talent, and the other is my best approximation for a caped vigilante kind of setup. Innate Fighter (5 points) /Skills/: Acrobatics, Boxing, Brawling, Judo, Karate, Wrestling. /Reaction Bonus/: Martial artists, pro fighters. /Common trait/: an inborn sense of timing and body function for hand-to-hand combat. /Applicability/: fighters, vigilantes, or thugs. Caped Crusader (5 points) /Skills/: Acrobatics, Cloak, Criminology, Karate, Stealth, Streetwise. /Reaction Bonus/: Criminals, law enforcement, other vigilantes. /Common trait/: The common skills for any "dark knight" detective. /Applicability/: Vigilantes, superheroes. Talents are for things such as 'Acrobat', +1 to acrobatics, aerobatics, aquabatics, jumping, flying leap... 'Eye for Details', +1 to criminology, observation... Caped Crusader is sort of like: 'Second-rate prostitute', +1 to sex-appeal, scrounging, urban survival, fast-talk, running... Quote:

Re: Help rebuilding Batman-like Supers character
Okay here is the latest build I did:

I changed a few of my Disadvantages after learning a bit more about the campaign world (namely, that superhumans are just starting to develop, so a guy running around in a costume fighting crime is kinda weird). PS Guess the little joke I made in Cultural Familiarity. |

Re: Help rebuilding Batman-like Supers character
You should probably pick up NBC Suit if you're going for the Tacsuit; remember that while you're wearing a suit requiring one of the specialties of the Enviroment Suit skill, all your DX-based skills are limited to a maximum of your rating in that specialty while wearing it.
Since you haven't bought it, you're defaulting. I think that's, what, DX-5? Don't have access to my books at the moment. You'd probably want to buy it up to DX+2 [8], so you can use your combat skills at full ability. Armor Familiarity would, I believe, offset that penalty by one, but only for Karate. |

Re: Help rebuilding Batman-like Supers character
Here's a few different power levels of Batman I threw together. They were designed to demonstrate what you could do with the same character level at different point values (a street-level to low end JLA batman version) but you can use them for ideas.
