The bit with her being Herc's possible daughter is my own take, only because I found it mythologically plausible. In the movie, I'm not sure who her father really is. Note that I've left it vague as to whether he actually is or not.

I admit, I have a tendency to alter character bios slightly when ambiguity creeps in. Comes from a decade of doing my Marvel Reboot project. I haven't read any of the Nu52 or later WW to see what angle they're taking beyond "she loves to fight".

In the failed TV pilot she's a psychotic murderer with no respect for the Rule of Law or the rights of... anyone really, except herself.

In the trailer she claims not to have had a father but it doesn't seem terribly unlikely that she's one of Zeus's many bastards. Doesn't matter. But does she have Conditioning on her Mind Control?

Her most iconic origin parroted Pygmalion and Galatea, with Queen Hypollyta in the role of Pygmalion. That is, she wasn't born; she was created, a statue given life by her matron goddesses at her mother's request.

The "daughter of Zeus" thing has turned out to be a lie.

Always keen on Golden Age mentions :) I get the JS references except for that last. Who does the contorted rock belong to?

Also: my preferred take on Thymescria (a.k.a. Paradise Island) is that it's home to a TL(2+6) society, with the “+6” coming from “chi craftsmanship”. The island's technology doesn't scale up very well, as the most interesting items produced tend to be unique masterpieces; mass production is not a concept the Amazons feature.

But in addition to Diana's lariat and bracelets, there's also the “purple ray” that she used to heal Steve Trevor's wounds and the Invisible Plane she used to fly him back to America, and her mother's scrying mirror. Think “Asgard-tech” from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (I also personally credit the purple ray for the Amazons' so-called immortality: regular exposure to its radiation Hal's the damage traditionally called “aging”.)

Yeah, I wasn't entirely sure how to classify Themyscira's TL, so I essentially left them off. Given the WWI take from the movie, it's tough to say whether she has the equivalent of TL6 as Man's World at the time or a few levels of High TL.

Oh: and WWI? That's quite a surprise. Historically, she's been associated with the second world war, not the first.

From all reports, the DCCU movie is set in WWI, not WWII, and its release seems to be set to coincide with the centennial anniversary of the US getting involved in that conflict. Of course, I'm just working off third-hand information.
