Default Help Me Out use

So, we had something come up in a game that needs clarification. I was fighting a monster and another munchkin used the Transferral Potion. He had the raincoat. Could I use the Help Me Out card to steal the raincoat so the Transferral potion would no longer work?

The transferral potion transfers the combat to another player. Since you are no longer in combat, you cannot use the Help me out Here.

Also, once the Transferral Potion is played, you have to play out its effects before doing anything else. Munchkin doesn't have backsies (except where cards say they can CANCEL another card's effects).

Thanks all. I know in some cases, when a card is played, you can counteract it within a given amount of time (like a curse). I wasn't sure if, after the potion was played, an action could still be taken. I appreciate the clarification. Makes sense.
