Default Jousting

Were there ever any expanded rules for the knightly art of jousting? I know its mentioned in passing just to resolve as a combat in GURPS Martial Arts. Thanks for any info.

Rules for Mounted Combat can be found on B396 ff. I don't know in which way you would want to expand these.

I don't think there's ever been an official supplement to cover jousting, but there have been a number of threads for it. This one is a good exploration, while this one explores how to realistically handle the damage involved.

GURPS Fantasy Harkwood has rules for jousting starting on page 62. It is 3e, but probably could be converted and adapted to 4e without too much sweat.

Even with the brittle lances and healing potions, to me it seems much too dangerous. Has anyone run through some sample jousts?

I was also considering the price of healing potions, but then realized that knights would be Wealthy or Very Wealthy and wouldn't really notice the cost of a few healing potions. Still, I think the potion-makers would make a killing on the joust alone. I forget: are potions harder to make (and therefore would cost more) in a low-mana zone?

Oh, also, how would Full Metal Jousting compare to Medieval rules (which Harkwood is supposed to emulate). Obviously, there're more safety rules than back then.

If you apply the max 15 points damage and give the jousting lance a x0.5 armour divisor you can have knights in jousting plate or mail not getting seriously wounded every time they get hit. But otherwise it's pretty brutal.

Ultimately treating a knight on horse back with a lance as the same as that horse with lance shaped horn (which is what the current rules basically do using the relative speed slam plus a weapon bonus to damage) make knight's charging with set lances a bit too brutal.
