Auto fail vs Auto succeed
I forget the name of the card, but it's a treasure card. It's a ring that allows you to automatically run away in exchange for losing a level (usable more than once) or it can be used as a Wishing Ring one time.
I saw it stated in another thread (can't find it at the moment) that an automatic escape won't work on a Monster that can't be escaped (unless your escape card specifically says so). Along those lines there is a monster whose Bad Stuff is to automatically fail your next run away. Does this Bad Stuff also trump automatic run aways like this ring, the Chicken Steed, etc. |

Re: Auto fail vs Auto succeed
The Other Ring is the first card to which you are referring. Bear in mind that the rules surrounding Hirelings and their like say that they escape even inescapable Monsters, so it's not just whether the card says so.
The second card to which you referred is Dice Lice. Since you are Cursed in this instance, you either have to give up a Wishing Ring to get rid of the curse, or you have to assume that you chose to roll against the next Monster you have to Run Away from and that that roll is a failure. Now, if you're facing multiple Monsters, you can use other auto-escapes after taking the Bad Stuff from the Monster. |
