Charge Attack Limitation
Salutations!
How would you handle a "charge attack" in GURPS? Not the kind where you run at the enemy and attack. The kind where you have to "charge" your attack immediately before attacking. Usually this is portrayed as one or several Ready, Aim, or Concentrate maneuvers. Rarely more than three, though. I suppose both the kind of charge maneuver and the duration would have an impact on the limitation value. The duration may even be variable. Requires Ready/Concentrate is not appropriate, as it is not suitable for attacks. Immediate Preparation Required takes one minute at the lowest level, which also makes it unsuitable for attacks. All-Out applies to the attack maneuver itself, not the one before. Did I miss anything? How would you handle it? |

You would appear to need Takes Extra Time, p. B115. Read to the end, there are important details there.

Takes Extra Time should work. It'll turn an instant use power into 1 second at the first level, then it works like an inverse version of Reduced Time.

I think that would be if you bought Rapid Fire with the option to fire individual shots.
Also if you wanted a Mega-Man style (can fire weak shots instantly, medium after 1 second hold, strong after 2 second hold) I think you would buy limitations differently on each level of the ability. TET 0 on lvl 1, TET 1 on lvl 2, TET 2 on lvl 3. |
