Has COVID hit your gaming?

COVID-19 has hit my gaming in four ways, three significant and one very major.

• Significant: I live in the middle of nowhere and don't like to drive. But about once a month I would travel to play and stay for a while with gaming buddies. Right now, that's not happening.

• Significant: I used to be active at three gaming conventions per year. Since I moved to the middle of nowhere, I haven't done that for quite a while. But because 2020 has seen conventions move online, I've attended several. I'm at one this weekend.

• Significant: A few years ago, some friends and I started an annual in-person get-together. While it wasn't just for gaming, games happened. This year, it was cancelled.

• Major: I've been in a weekly online GURPS game for a couple or so years with sessions usually run by Michael Viviano aka Kilmore (I GMed it sometimes.) The games were set in worlds he created with help from others, including me. He ran a game, then one week later, apparently during our usual game time, he died. That was due to COVID-19. It's been three months as of today, and I still really miss him. I am dedicating my first GURPS book to him--parts of it were tried out with him GMing in one of his worlds.
