Fractional Armor Divisors and DR 0.
According to the Basic Set (page 379) DR 0 is treated 'as if it were DR 1' against fractional armour divisors.
Does this mean... (a) it reduces damage by one point, regardless of the armour divisor, or... (b) it reduces damage in the same way as DR 1 armour would, so an attack with an armour divisor of (0.5) would have it's damage reduced by 2 points against bare skin. If the answer is (b), is there any point at all to using .45 ACP hollow point bullets? |

Re: Fractional Armor Divisors and DR 0.
After re-reading, this was incorrect
(b) would seem to be the correct interpretation of the rules text. Bare Skin (DR0) is treated as DR2 vs. Armor Divisor (0.5); DR5 vs. AD (0.2); and DR10 vs. AD (0.1). Last edited by SCAR; 05-10-2011 at 02:44 AM. Reason: wrong answer! |

Re: Fractional Armor Divisors and DR 0.
IIRC the intent was 'AD<0 vs DR results in total damage reduced by exactly 1, and then this d-1 turned into injury as appropriate'.

After re-reading the text again, I concur, it should be (a) - DR0 should be treated as DR1 if AD<1

Re: Fractional Armor Divisors and DR 0.
I've seen other cases where DR <1 was treated as DR 0.5, which would presumably mean AD(0.5, 0.3) would treat skin as DR 1, AD(0.2) would treat skin as DR 2, and AD(0.1) as DR 5, but yeah, the rules in Basic do seem to be that DR 0 becomes DR 1 against fractional armor divisors.
