Default Trap Card & Class Card Questions

I'm hoping to get some more help with the Rick & Morty Munchkin card game as we had a few more issues coming up as we were nearly getting through an entire game.

1. Can you play a trap card at anytime or only during combat?

2. Can you play a trap card during your own turn during your own combat?

3. If so, if you're in combat yourself, and you have a trap card that effects another player and you want to use it before if you die then your booty can be looted, is that allowed?

4. Can you play a trap card on yourself?

5. In the high schooler class card, you're allowed to give three cards to defeat any monster but you don't go up a level. Are you allowed to use this ability more than once per turn, so if someone played a wandering monster you could give six cards and defeat both if needed?

6. In the same situation above with the high schooler ability, if you are facing a monster and someone plays a wandering monster, you use the ability to take out one of the monsters, and you're able to defeat the other monster, would you still go up a level for the monster you defeated without the ability?

7. Roughly same question as above but instead of wandering monster you used the card where you duplicate the exact monster and all of it's abilities (forgot the name) and you used the high schooler ability to defeat one of them, and then were able to defeat the other one regularly, would you go up a level?

Any help is appreciated.

Traps can be played on any player at any time. However, you can't interpose a Trap into the middle of another action -- if you want to Trap someone before you roll to Run Away, that's fine, but if you fail you roll, you can't use a Trap until you resolve the Bad Stuff.

Looking at the card, the intent seems to be that it discards exactly one monster. I would rule that you can't use the ability more than once per combat, and that if you can't kill or defeat any remaining monsters, you have to run from those monsters and you don't get any Treasures from the one you took out of the fight, either. I agree that it's not as clearly written as perhaps it should have been.
