Parachonozoids are always a pain. It starts with white deer and exotic roses (see page 74 Infinite Worlds) and ends in banestorm-like madness.

In this Q6 echo (Now Labeled BAD ALICE-1 as it is no longer an Echo). After a Centrum arranged assassination of Burghley and Walsingham in 1556, all of the roses in England turned white and glowed in the dark! Worse, Princess Elizabeth's guards reported that Princess Elizabeth was kidnapped by the faeries and dragged down a rabbit hole!

Queen Mary of England has declared war on the faeries and demanded the return of her sister. England has jumped in a few weeks from low to high manna. A storm of Parachornozoid weirdness is breaking out. Both Centrum and the Cabal seem to have lost their heads. The Pope has stated Ex Cathedra that the faeries have declared war on Christendom. The Turks are seeking Christian alliances against the Jinni.

The PCs are a team of Homeline allied World-Jumpers. Their mission, find Princess Elizabeth and return her to England! Note: Avoid Mary Tudor, she's taken to wearing pink and red dresses covered with Heart motifs

In the late 14th and early 15th centuries England was regularly trading with Iceland and English Fishermen were fishing in Icelandic waters. The Icelanders desperately needed the grain and cloth that the English merchant sold.

In Albion-2 (Albion worlds being worlds where Medieval England is radically more successful than in Homeline) One of these Iceland trading ships bribes a Norse official to get a letter to allow him to trade with Greenland. In Homeline History this same official was sent to Finmark instead of Iceland.

During one of these voyages to Greenland the merchant is blown off course and rediscovers Markland in the year 1382. The Merchant soon learns about the Vinland voyages and does some exploring himself.

Soon the Merchant has set up a fishing station in Vinland. This station quickly grows into a small village. As Greenland becomes colder the Greenlanders leave for this English village in Vinland.

In this world, Vinland in Nova Scotia (the grapes where really Blackberries) and the fishing station thrives. Although there is a visitation of the plague, it harms the Native Americans more than the Vinlanders.

All through the 1400's large groups from England, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland, settle in Vinland. Spreading as far south as the Chesapeake.

The local year is 1563, the Queen of England's western lands are a thorn in the side of Spain. Also the very fact of English towns spread over a thousand miles of coast weakens Phillip's claim to the Americas. Meanwhile, Elizabethan noblemen seek to explore these strange new wild land of the American West. The natives and the country folk of England, Ireland, Cornwall, Wales, Scotland, Brittany, and the Basque Country, have joined to create a strange new society.

Think of it as a more realistic Banestorm.

Claudius in this world lived to be 87 years old. His eldest son and successor was quiet and unassuming, like his mother, and also quietly strong and forceful.

These Julio-Claudians gave Rome three centuries of quiet, just, firm, government. A friend and lover of Claudius' grandson was something of an inventor and a crank about agriculture. He introduced the Moldboard Plow into Gaul and also the Box Bellows and the Spinning Wheel. The local year is 870 AD or 1624 Ab urbe condita as the folks here would say.

Rumors are getting back to Rome of islands as far away as Ultima Thule or further. The Northern sea raiders claim to find while bears and exotic ivories in these lands. "We shall send an admiral to discover the truth of this."

Basically, Romans and Vikings in Greenland and Vinland .

Would this world have one of the Rome designations, or maybe just 'Claudius'? Perhaps both - Rome designated worlds Johnson's Rome and Roma Aeterna are technically 'Rome' worlds (Rome-1 and Rome-3, I think).

And is/was there Christianity on this world? The divergence point would be right after Christ's crucifixation. Without the chaos of Rome's decline, Christianity wouldn't have been able to spread as successfully, I think.

Maybe it exists, but is just one of many religions in a tolerant Roman Empire.

Claudius might be a good name. A calm peaceful Rome would be a religiously tolerant Rome. As well as a Rome with fewer Messianic faiths. Christianity would be a minor Faith. Apollonius of Tyana would be more popular as would Osirus and Dynonisus.

Britania-9

Technological change accelerates on most worlds after the Printing press is developed. However, on Britania-9 the acceleration was faster for some reason. Tech Level four lasted only seventy five years. And Tech Level five is passing more quickly.

The local year is 1588, Elizabeth's Ironclad Steam powered navy has just swept the Spanish Armada from the Seas. Breakthroughs in watch manufacture make navigation vastly simpler as the problem of Longitude has been cracked. Britain is rapidly industrializing and the Dutch are the only people keeping up. Although France, Venice, and Bohemia aren't doing badly.

Basically, it's Sea Dogs and Dreadnoughts, sword and Gatling Gun, while Spain and Britain compete for glory.

Note: Path/Book Magic works on this world, but results can be weird. John Dee, while attending on Elizabeth as a physician gave her a potion of youth. She laughed so hard drinking it she nearly choked. Six months later she looks like she's in her mid-twenties. No one is laughing now.

In fact, as Kelly stole Dee's notes, people are furious.

The Cabal is wildly interested in this Q4 world. THEIR John Dee is supposed to be directly involved.

If the south managed to maintain its independence, but otherwise wasn't much changed, it's quite likely that it would fall apart. The confederate constitution was very weak, and without a cause to unite them, the separate states would likely attempt to go their own way.

A Dixie worldline could reasonably expect to depict a world where, even years after the fact, there is only a nebulous border between north and south, full of fugitive slaves, wandering militias and mercenaries, and petty plantation warlords bickering over ever-declining profits from collapsing cotton prices.

Britania-9 is basically a Steampunk Elizabethan England. As the real Elizabethan England was somewhat advanced in Biology I'll say the biological sciences are just at the border between TL5 and six. Medicine is very late TL5 as are the physical sciences (think 1889). General engineering, agriculture, production, weapons and transport, are Late TL5 (think 1869). Elizabethan England and the Dutch are about 15 years ahead of the rest of Europe when it comes to naval sciences and transport generally. However this is a matter of investment not knowledge.

Post-Apocalyptic Steampunk? sounds interesting. What happens to Latin America? Have France, Germany, and Britain, divided it among themselves?

Try this one...

A group of world jumpers, who think they are time travelers lost in time, arrive on an Echo of Earth in the year 1933. The group sees the period as a perfect chance to stop travelling and build a home for themselves. Problem, they have incompatible visions of the "Good Society."

Anton, sees Stalin as a corrupter of a noble ideal. He believes that the USSR's blend of the ideas of Marx and Nietzsche was the path to human fulfillment. Maeve sees the USA as having achieved something worthy but got turned away and abandoned it's finest ideals. Fred feels that Germany had great potential lost to a mad man's hate and a world that failed to see the greatness. Anne sees that people of Africa and the African diaspora oppressed and in need of liberation. Emon sees Japan as having an ideal culture perfectly blending the spiritual and the material but burdened by racism and an authoritarian oligarchical government. Nigel sees the British Empire as a deeply flawed vessel that could be used to create a peaceful and just world order to benefit all.

Besides these six there are others. Each is a powerful Psion cyborg with vast amounts of technological and other types of knowledge at their finger tips. Although these people would logically come into conflict, they each can benefit from cooperation. Fred is a passionate German Nationalist, but Maeve, Nigel, Aton, and Agnane (the French Patriot in the group) all want to see him eliminate Hitler. Each of these people is seeking influence in major governments and world organizations. Each wants to make a better world.

They all agree on the need to end racism, sexism, poverty, and class bigotry, but not on how to do much of any of that.

What Homeline sees on this Q6 low manna world (called Proteus) local year 1941, is a world in rapid transition. The tech level seems to be jumping upward wildly. Important world leaders are either suddenly much healthier or dead years early. Out time interference is assumed. But just what is happening is unknown.

Kongens Lov-3

Kongens Lov worlds are worlds were Denmark is more important or powerful than in Homeline History. In Kongens Lov-3 the Kalmar Union was far more successful. The Danish Aristocrats successful shared power with the Swedish aristocrats and the Hanseatic League had to make deals with the Union.

One outcome of this stronger Union was a resumption of Scandinavian sea exploration and an early discovery of America. The Kalmar Union, the Hansa, the Scots, and the English, settled the New World first. (Cartographers named it Ericslonde).

By the time the Portuguese are sailing the South Atlantic, the Dutch have already settled Brazil.

The local year is 1704. Silberland (Argentina) has broken with the Catholic Church and embraced Protestantism. This means that Catholic Peru has to sail it's treasure fleets around a hostile power. Saxon townsmen are taking up swords to protect the Reformed Faith from the Roman menace. Meanwhile, Peru, a true daughter of Holy Mother Church, is preparing to march armies across the Andes to protect the honor of God!

Basically, the Thirty Years War in the high Andes.
