Default [Book Magic] Books of the Seven Sins

The Book part of Path/Book Magic (Thaumatology pp121-165) doesn't get a lot of love, it seems, although it isn't completely lacking in examples. For one thing, Diabolism in Thaumatology: Age of Gold is a Book style, and partially inspired this (also inspired a bit by this thread). I'm going to try to fit any rituals that plausibly would into seven books, each representing one of the Seven Deadly Sins. If a ritual doesn't fit any of them, then it doesn't fit. I'm going to skip over the Path of Gadgets for this, on the assumption that the books are fairly old.

Suggestions are welcome, please.

Rituals with a question mark are those that I'm particularly not sure belong in that book, but not sure what other book or books to put them in, if any.

Volumen Acedia (Sloth)
Summon-0
Slumber-2

(Really having trouble finding rituals to fit Sloth.)

Volumen Avaritia (Greed)
Gambler's Token-0
Windfall-2
Journeyman's Blessing-3
Loyal Item-4

Volumen Gula (Gluttony)
Guise-1
Fertility-2?
Hunter's Blessing-4

(Also having trouble finding Gluttony-related rituals.)

Volumen Invidia (Envy)
Journeyman's Curse-3
Impotence-3?
Malaise-5?
Obscurity-5?
Scry-6?
Hand of Glory-7?
Read Thoughts-7

Volumen Ira (Wrath)
Night Terrors-5
Rockfall-6
Thunderbolt-6
Evil Eye-7
Shake the Earth-7
Doom-8

Volumen Luxuria (Lust)
Sterility-1?
Fertility-2?
Love Charm-3
Virility-3
Lust-4
Perfect Appearance-4
Unbearable Pleasure-5

Volumen Superbia (Pride)
Vitality-3
Conjure Flame-4
Cleansing-4
Tirelessness-5
Warrior's Blessing-6
Weapon Blessing-6
Dispel Ritual-6

Wondering if defensive rituals in general would fit under Pride, as I'm putting a lot of directly hostile, 'violent' rituals under Wrath.

Not intentionally skipping Path of Form, just having difficulty deciding if they fit any Sins, or which sin they would fit. Might depend on the nature of shapeshifters in the setting, but I could see Pride or Wrath fitting, maybe? Similar problem for Path of Spirit.

Thoughts?

I could see Tirelessness and Cleansing on Sloth

"Without sleep, I can do 50% more lounging"

"Why bother to put any physical work into cleaning when I can just get it done with a magical ritual?"

Gluttony includes any obsessive eating practice, anorexia and bulimia both fit.

Sloth is not limited to sleeping a lot, or being lazy, or sending people to sleep; in fact that's one of the surface aspects. Sloth has to do with not thinking it's worth making the effort to get the good things that God provides. At a deep level, sloth is the sin of despair. That might point to some other rituals, or ideas for rituals.

Summoning could go under sloth for 'I get someone else to do it'

Gluttony could include some form of Guise to make your food appear rich and luxurious.

OK, Summon added to Sloth, Guise added to Gluttony. Still thinking about others. I wonder if Bind or Embody would fit any? I could see them fitting in Sloth for much the same reason as Summon.

Also thinking about adding books for the Seven Virtues, perhaps in a different thread. I could see rituals like Dose and Succor fitting there, but haven't thought of Books they work for here.

On another note, a bit of possible amusement: The title of this thread was originally going to be 'Seven Books of Sin,' but then I had an attack of common sense and realised that that would be somewhat misleading.

That would be an awesome in-universe name for the Books, though. ;)
