Curious GCA question
I am creating a Reptile Men variant. It's only significant difference is the region for the survival skill bonus, and changing out Shyness for Stubbornness. However, when I finish this new racial template, it starts out showing the proper points total - 59 - and then finishes out by upping this total to 63... Can anyone explain to me why that is?
Here is the comparison https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing |

Re: Curious GCA question
My guess is something to do with the SM+1 and ST bonus. +1 SM normally gives a -10% to ST, so ST+4 [40] gets 4 points cheaper. If that discount isn't being added to the source of the ST bonus there's your 4 points.

Re: Curious GCA question
That's what it appears to be. I took a look at the preview, with it showing me the template info, and the ST bonus was indeed 40, rather than 36. Now to just figure out how to make it show the reduction.
Solved. It seems that, during template creation, I can add a modifier to ST of -10% size modifier. Last edited by Tigrah2k; 08-02-2017 at 10:37 PM. |

Re: Curious GCA question
I have yet another curious question.
Is it possible to make the GCA compatible with the windows 10 OS on a tablet? |

Although you really want a proper mouse ! Never tried in pure tablet mode, without the keyboard. I suspect it would run but be nearly unusable. |

Re: Curious GCA question
It works fine with a tablet, but you definitely need a mouse to use it. However, there is a really good screen to touchpad program called TouchMousePointer which I use anytime I need a "real" mouse on my tablet. There's a couple different versions of the software,
but I just use the older (freeware) version: Direct Download Link.

Re: Curious GCA question
I've had trouble running GCA in touch-only mode. Besides the targets being too small for fingers, sometimes they just don't react at all, especially menu options. I get better results using a stylus.
But if you're careful and deliberate, GCA works just fine in touch-only mode. |

Re: Curious GCA question
GCA has a touch mode? Is the same GCA license I purchased for my PC able to work for the tablet, or would I have to purchase a seperate license?
BTW, I purchased GCA long before I was on the forums, so... how do I recover that purchase, and link it to my forum account (if possible), just in case I have to do a refresh or whatnot? Last edited by Tigrah2k; 08-05-2017 at 06:14 PM. |

Re: Curious GCA question
No, GCA doesn't have a "touch" mode; Stormcrow was talking about using GCA on a Windows tablet while that tablet was in "touch only" mode - that is, just using the touch screen interface.
As he, and I, said GCA doesn't work particularly well with a tablet using a touch screen; GCA will run fine (if a little slow) on a windows tablet, but it was written long before touch interfaces were a thing and many of the click targets are just too small and too close together. That's why I suggested you look into TouchMousePointer, which does make GCA usable. Or you should use a real mouse with the tablet. The next version of GCA will support touch screens much better. However, GCA5 is in slow development, with no ETA in sight. The best anyone could guess at this time is that it's "years away." Quote:

Re: Curious GCA question
I believe I purchased it last winter, perhaps, and didn't have an account at the time. I did use the same email as the one I used to start this forum account though.
