Question by a newbie
I am finally getting into In Nomine after all these years and its is awesome! I have been ordering the books online from Amazon and Ebay and I am enthralled.
As I said I am new to this but I found an inconsistency that I hope someone can clear up. On page 28 of the main book it states that Angels and Demons start with 9 Forces. Page 121 of the Infernal Players Guide it states Demons get 7 Forces. So what is it? I am tempted to say the Infernal Players Guide is correct as it came out after the core book but I just would like some clarification. Thanks! Todd |

Re: Question by a newbie
Welcome to the game!
A starting celestial PC on either side has 9 Forces. As background material goes, it's the case that Relievers fledge into angels at 9 Forces, whereas demonlings fledge into demons at 7 Forces. The exception is Lilim, who were never demonlings and are always created with 9 Forces. So you will never see an 8-Force demonling running around. 7-Force demons do exist but haven't usually earned their way to Earth -- or they lost a couple of Forces in celestial combat or some other circumstance, as would be true for a 7- or 8-Force angel you saw. |

Re: Question by a newbie
This breakdown has some nice storytelling advantages.
A game following a bunch of "new" 9-Force angels can pit them against a slew of weaker demons without violating the rules of the world. This would be the most common approach. Alternately, a game following around a bunch of 6-Force Soldiers (or Undead) pit them against a demon who is a bit more powerful, but who doesn't outclass them as outrageously as a full 9-Force celestial would. It is also possible to play a game with a bunch of newly fledged 7-Force demons who are fending the credible threat posed by Soldiers while attempting to defeat one or two "important" 9-Force Celestials. |

Re: Question by a newbie
I think the latter idea provides and important point. More Forces may mean more raw power, but not necessarily better use. I've had a 6 Force Sorcerer NPC run rings around three 10 Force Demons without using any sort of GM Fiat or rule-breaks.

Is there any errata for the Infernal Guide?
The Infernal Players guide clearly states 7 forces.... |

Re: Question by a newbie
Hi I'm new to the In Nomine game too and did the same thing you did. I purchased a bunch of books. I am reading them and trying to learn how to play the game. However, I am a bit confused as to how to get started. Can someone explain how to play the game to me. It looks amazing. I have the In Nomine Game Masters Guide, the Players Guide, The Angelic guide and many other of the other books. A bit confusing, the reading is fascinating. Do I need dice/die? I would love some help please. :) Does anyone have a game started online? Does one have to write their own idea for a campaign? Sorry if this seems silly. I apologize.
I used to play Star Fleet Battles when it was popular. Trying to get back into some role playing games online. I don't know of anyone around me that is interested. Thank you! |
